Intern Therapist

I believe in the deep power of connection, and therapy is an opportunity to heal relational wounds, a place to discover yourself, and first and foremost a space that is uniquely yours. I provide compassionate guidance and support along your journey, nurturing your connection to yourself and between intimate others and helping you discover self-awareness, intuition, and meaning. Together we can find a light in the darkness of challenging experiences and restore parts of yourself that may have been cast aside. Traumatic experiences are common, and I provide trauma-informed therapy to help navigate the turbulence that trauma can bring. Parts of the self are often split off when a trauma occurs, so I see psychotherapy as a soul journey towards wholeness and integration. With acceptance and compassion, we will work together to bring forth more joy, expansiveness, and wonder.

I provide counseling to individuals, couples, families, and adolescents and welcome clients from all backgrounds and orientations. I work with individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, career transitions, and problems related to trauma and complex trauma. I also work with couples and families experiencing relationship difficulties including communication issues and challenges with emotional connection.

My therapeutic approach is relational, and I bring an attachment and emotional focus to my work with both individuals and couples. I draw from psychodynamic psychotherapy, trauma-informed approaches, and systems theories and recognize the importance of culture and identity in how we understand ourselves and others in a complex world. With individual clients, I also incorporate aspects of somatic work to connect the mind and body, as well as Internal Family Systems to discover and integrate fragmented parts. I also help clients discover nourishing and supportive practices like yoga, journaling, and meditation to further support our work together. I hold a certification in the Gottman Method (Level 1) and heavily rely on principles of Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) in working with couples to identify and transform negative relationship dynamics into opportunities for healing, connection, and intimacy.

I grew up in New York and lived in New England for many years while working in my previous career as a biomedical engineer. I have a Bachelor’s and PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Brown University and am currently pursuing a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Seattle University. As someone who has worked in the technology field for many years, I am drawn to supporting those who are analytical and thinking-mind dominant to help them connect with their emotions, bodies, spirits and feeling states. In my personal life I enjoy yoga, traveling, spending time in nature, backpacking, and exploring psycho-spiritual practices to support my own soul journey.
