INDIVIDUAL & ADOLESCENT THERAPY

Intern Therapist (MaED Candidate & Reiki Level II Practitioner)

I work with individuals experiencing chronic stress, anxiety, depression, addiction, difficult life transitions, and chronic illnesses. My approach is gentle, curious, and non-judgmental while empowering my clients to create a purposeful and fulfilling life. I realize the body and mind must feel safe to become vulnerable and begin healing, so I aim to create an environment of trust and safety.

My work focuses on helping clients process distressing and unpleasant emotions so that the mind and body can release any trauma stored within. Drawing from diverse, evidence-based therapeutic modalities, I incorporate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Somatic Therapy into my practice. ACT, a cognitive behavioral approach, focuses on accepting oneself and current circumstances without judgment while reconnecting to values and taking effective action. I also believe that we store our emotions in our physical body, so I use Somatic Therapy to help release suppressed emotions. Additionally, I use mindful meditation techniques and intentional breathwork exercises to help my clients feel grounded while reducing stress and anxiety. Everyone is unique, so I tailor my approach to suit each client's needs and preferences. With a profound dedication to my client's well-being, I aim to create a safe, non-judgmental space where individuals can process difficult emotions using evidence-based therapeutic techniques.

Before starting my career in psychotherapy, I spent a decade working in the fast-paced world of finance. Over the years, I discovered the detrimental effects of extreme stress, disconnection, and lack of purpose. I also live with a chronic pain disease which has taught me valuable lessons about the connection between physical and mental health. Because of these experiences, I embrace a holistic approach to healing that includes the mind, body, and spirit working in harmony. Overcoming these difficult situations has helped me develop a passion for the healing process and empathy for anyone suffering.

I grew up in Dallas, TX, but have lived in Arizona, California, and Colorado over the last decade. I received my Undergraduate degree from Arizona State University in Business Communications with a Minor in Sustainability. I moved to Seattle over two years ago and am entering my third year as a graduate student in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at Seattle University. Outside work, I enjoy practicing yoga, reiki, weight training, playing golf, and attending concerts. Living in the Pacific Northwest, I try to ground myself in the surrounding natural beauty by spending time outdoors (preferably by the water).
