Have you been encouraged to “approach your life with more mindfulness?” Do the phrases “live in the present” or “anchor with breath” or even “sit with the unpleasant” translate to “what does that even mean?!?” in your mind?
You are not alone.
Mindfulness is a term used frequently in conjunction with therapy, but we do not always give mindfulness the time and energy to understand it. This Mindfulness Practices Group will give participants an opportunity to dig into the meaning of mindfulness, to learn how to begin or grow a mindfulness practice, and to join focused sessions on particular areas of mindfulness practices as you choose.
Participants are invited to join in all 6 sessions, or if there is one area you are interested in, feel free to sign up for an individual session.
This group may be a good fit if you:
Are currently in therapy and are looking to support your healing and growth.
Are a clinician looking to add mindfulness tools into your therapeutic toolbelt.
Have heard of mindfulness but don’t really know what it means.
Have an established mindfulness practice but are eager to learn more.
Our time together will focus on:
A brief overview of the weekly topic.
Group discussion to enhance our understanding of mindfulness and the weekly focus.
Brief mindfulness practices.
Reflection and supporting practice at home.
