It takes an extraordinary amount of strength and courage to recognize that you need support and to go through the process of choosing someone to trust and share your story with. I want to commend you for making that effort and assure you that I will not take it lightly.

I work with individuals who are dealing with a wide range of challenges. If you are dealing with the effects of trauma, I can help you navigate its impact on your daily life as you work to integrate lessons from the past and find hope for the future. Anxiety and depression can be debilitating constraints leaving you feeling stuck, together we can work to understand their underlying causes and find effective ways to help you reconnect to your values and a renewed sense of agency. A common feature of trauma, anxiety and depression is isolation, leading to a feeling of alienation from yourself and others. My hope is that our work can guide you towards reconnection, an enriched relationship with yourself, an invigorating relationship with others and an intentional connection to your present moment.

I also specialize in helping those navigating loss; whether related to religion, culture, community or a significant relationship.  These experiences can bring grief, disorientation, and leave us feeling as though we are “not enough.”  I would be honored to come alongside you as you process these emotions, and as you work to find meaning and purpose within them.  As a meaning-based therapist, I will emphasize your agency and empowerment, helping you utilize your strengths to align your life with your true values.

When we meet, we will both bring our own backgrounds, generations, and entire histories into the relationship. We will begin by co-creating an authentic space that feels trusting and safe, allowing you to explore areas of your life that require awareness, processing, and integration. I firmly believe that you are the authority over your own experience, and my role is to guide, witness, provide perspective, and offer insight into what emerges.

My orientation and approach integrate meaning-centered therapy, mindfulness, and trauma processing. I am trained in Existential Therapy, Mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). This diverse set of modalities allow for flexible integration into the therapeutic process depending on the unique needs of each client and each moment. Additionally, I consistently engage in postgraduate training in various therapeutic approaches and seek ongoing supervision and consultation to support the individual needs of my clients.

I am a first-generation immigrant from Egypt, and I spent a significant part of my upbringing there and in the United Arab Emirates, where I experienced a truly diverse world of cultures and ways of life that shaped my connection to different perspectives. I studied Philosophy and Psychology with a focus on neuroscience and the philosophy of religion at Western Michigan University, where I earned my Bachelor of Science. Shortly before the pandemic, I relocated to Seattle, where I obtained my Master of Arts in Psychology in the Existential-Phenomenological Psychology program at Seattle University. In my free time, I enjoy hiking, playing with my pets (Frankie and Lolli), paddleboarding, reading, learning history, and playing chess.
