Our lives are a complex web of relationships  – with people, who we are connected to through birth, choice, profession, or chance; with the environment, built and natural; with endeavors and pursuits; and with ourselves.  Sometimes the noise and churn of those relationships can mold and form our layers in ways we may struggle to understand or identify.  Like a nesting doll, those layers and iterations of self carry forward with us. Therapy provides a safe space to unpack those layers and discover our deepest sense of self.

I warmly welcome clients facing challenges with intimate relationships, anxiety, depression, and identity, and who are confronting life transitions.  Approaching our work through a trauma-informed lens, I believe in the importance of finding balance and peace in the mind-body connection to develop wholeness in your sense of being.

Therapy is a collaborative journey of self-awareness and self-actualization.  Central to my approach to therapy is the understanding that each individual has the capacity and resilience to find healing, meaning and growth. You possess the inner wisdom and tools necessary to cope with the vast and varied challenges of life and live in alignment with your authentic self.  I am here to gently guide and support you in the process of accessing and leveraging those emotions, connections, beliefs, values, and choices.

I approach our work through a practice based in existential-humanism, a system of understanding and honoring the uniqueness of your individual experience in the context of greater humanity. I use a variety of techniques drawn from Acceptance and Commitment therapy, Relational-Cultural therapy, and Somatic therapy, with a particular interest in applying physical movement and grounding to establish real feelings of healing and stability. My work with intimate relationship partners is guided by the Gottman Method.

I grew up in Michigan before beginning the sojourn that would bring me to a new home, again near big water and tall trees. I received my undergraduate in Diplomacy & Foreign affairs from Miami University before moving to Washington, DC.  After receiving my Juris Doctor from American University, I began a decade-long career as an attorney, professional advocate, and policy counsel representing clients ranging from asylum seekers to the largest financial institutions and emerging technology leaders. I arrived in Seattle by way of San Francisco, in 2021.  An intern therapist, I am a candidate for a Masters of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Seattle University.  Outside of class and the office I spend much of my free time enjoying this beautiful corner of the world.  I enjoy trail running, backcountry skiing, a great record or live show, and good food and am often adventuring with my husband and two rescue dogs, Stanley and Nik.
