Intern Therapist

Welcome; I'm so glad you are here. I believe that you contain a deep power for healing and understand that you are the expert of your own life. Together with kindness, curiosity, and deep regard, we will create a safe and accepting space where all aspects of you are welcome. Our journey will be one of shared curiosity and discovery. I am here to guide and support you along the way.

I provide counseling to individuals, couples, and adolescents from diverse backgrounds. I work with those experiencing depression, anxiety, the effects of trauma, and I have a deep love for working with trans and non-binary individuals and other LGBTQAI+ folx. I also love supporting people who are living with a chronic illness, and the many internal and external ramifications of that experience.  I am also experienced in working with neurodivergent concerns, adoption, and transracial families. My practice stems from a trauma-informed lens and considers your emotional safety foremost.

We will pay curious, compassionate attention to you and what you are experiencing, and explore narratives you have about your life and identify patterns that no longer serve you. As we navigate the healing process, we will welcome the parts of you that may have been pushed aside or feel too overwhelming. By embracing these parts of you with kindness, we can consider their wisdom and integrate them into new ways of being and healing.

My therapeutic approach is relational first. I am trained within an Existential-phenomenological frame which focuses on the individual's lived experience as the foundation of healing and the meaning we make of it. Within this system, I draw from contemplative/ Buddhist and feminist perspectives and take an anti-oppression and liberatory framework. I understand that our lives and experiences are constructed and connected to multiple societal structures that cannot be separated from our individual selves.

I grew up in New York, and I am of Ashkenazi Jewish descent. Since young adulthood, my career has allowed me to live in Los Angeles, the Bay Area, Missouri, and Southeast Asia. One of the greatest gifts of my life has been spent living among and creating family among racial, ethnic, and religiously diverse groups of humans.   I am also a parent and have been a part of the LGBTQAI+ community since I was a teenager. Working as a photographer in the US and abroad for the past 20 years offered me the fortune of working with refugees, those living under occupation and war, celebrities, and CEOs. This work has given me access to a deep breadth of the human experience. I moved to the Pacific Northwest for graduate school, attending Seattle University in their Existential Phenomenological Master's Program in Psychology, and fell in love with the region's beauty. Swimming, walking in nature, and seeing and creating art in my free time are some of my passions. In addition, a 20-year Buddhist practice transformed and continues to transform my life, and I feel immense gratitude for it.

I look forward to joining you in our work together.
