Intern Therapist

My approach to therapy is rooted in the idea that, no matter who you are or where you're from, you have the strength to learn, grow, and excel in the face of life's inevitable challenges. I aim to establish a safe space founded on connection and empowerment, creating an environment where you are seen and supported. I believe that by drawing on your own creativity and realizing your potential, you'll be able to tap into the aspects of life that give you meaning and fulfillment.

I work with adults who deal with anxiety, depression, social anxiety, identity formation, grief and loss, relationship issues, and life transitions. My goal is to help you make more intentional decisions about how you live, using your inherent strengths rather than letting outside factors determine your behavior. I am passionate about guiding people through this process, uncovering their true power, and letting their personal growth inspire and drive their progress. I also have a particular specialty and interest in working with artists.

My client-centered, existential approach to therapy stems from the concept that people must look within themselves to find meaning, assert their values, and make decisions that shape their lives. With this approach, I aim to meet people where they're at by focusing on what they find meaningful and always exploring from their point of view. Working through this lens informs how I work with and allows me to assess how the interplay of intersectionality, culture, and outside systemic factors contribute to the client's lived experience. My goal with this type of therapy is to provide people with the space to share their unique perspective, enabling me to understand the nuanced complexities of their lives.

Like many of you, I never expected to end up where I am now, but it's through the journey that I've learned the most about myself—my strengths, my shortcomings, and all that embodies me as a person. I took the less-traveled path and initially pursued a career as a musician, spending the better part of my twenties touring across North America, chasing my dreams. The interconnectedness I was able to establish through the process of writing and sharing music made a profound impact on me and impressed upon me the incredible value of human connection. This is a lesson that I have carried with me into graduate school at Seattle University, where I am currently enrolled in the university's nationally renowned Clinical Mental Health Program. During my time in this program, I have had the privilege of learning from a diverse faculty, many of whom are leaders in various aspects of counseling. This experience has helped me cultivate my passion for human connection into a tool to help others. In my free time, I enjoy having fun with my wife and two kids, hiking, playing music, and exploring the beautiful Pacific Northwest. I am humbled to be able to join you on your journey to living a more connected, fulfilled, and successful life.
